How long have you lived in the Tawonga area?
We came up here 40 years ago in 1986 with our two little boys and our horses, from Tonimbuk in West Gippsland.
What do you like about the area?
We enjoy the four distinct seasons and the ability to be adventurous.
Would you like to see any change or additions?
We do like it the way it is, but feel there is an opportunity to promote the autumn season. In the Kiewa Valley and the surrounds of Mt Beauty we have the best display of trees, and autumn is show time for them.
What do you do, your hobbies and interests?
We started Bogong Horse Back Adventures and now our eldest son runs it as Spring Spur. Back in the day the boys had a passing parade of beautiful back packers, and both married girls from other countries - one from South Africa and one from France. My husband likes camping in remote areas and we have had some truly amazing trips across the country, particularly gaining permission to travel through Indigenous country west of Alice Springs to the Western Australian coast. We are both keen artists and writers.
The joy of our life is our grandchildren, some of whom live just a few metres away from us.
Where would you take visitors to showcase the area?
Just outside our front door for one of the best views around, and we would encourage them to go on many of the scenic walks in the area.
