WHOROULY CWA's recent Biggest Morning Tea event raised more than $900 for Cancer Council.

President Jannette Allen was ecstatic about the number of people the group got to welcome back after two COVID impacted years.

"It wasn't a huge crowd but none the less a generous crowd with many people putting money into the donation box," she said.

"We raised over $900 which is amazing for the small Whorouly community.

"We had a range of people from young mothers with their bubs to CWA members and also quite a few men."

The amount raised came with the help of the Whorouly Primary School.

The school raised just over $100 for the morning tea, which they attended during their break to help with the cleaning and enjoy some of the fantastic treats.

Whorouly Primary School principal Pauline McPherson said it was great to help the CWA out in the same way they help the school throughout the year.

"We really appreciate their support through the school so to be able to return the favour was great," she said.

"All the students brought a gold coin to donate."
