ACTIVE COVID cases in the Alpine Shire continue to drop while vaccination rates continue to rise.
The shire had eight new COVID cases detected in the 24 hours to Monday, with total active cases dropping 22.6 per cent on the previous week to just 58, according to the Victorian Government's Coronavirus data.
Meanwhile, some areas of the shire (postcodes 3741 and 3699) have seen 70 per cent of people now triple vaccinated, while more than 95 per cent have had their second dose.
Alpine Health's COVID vaccination clinics are still operating, but on reduced times of an hour due to the decreased demand of PCR tests and the increased ability to obtain RAT kits.
The Bright clinic at the Alpine Community Health Centre is open on Mondays, Mt Beauty's clinic at the Lakeside Community Centre opened on Tuesdays, and Myrtleford clinic at the Myrtleford Hospital Multi–Purpose Room on Wednesdays.
Vaccinations are only available by appointment due to the limited space and demand for vaccines.
If you have symptoms of COVID, Alpine Health testing clinics are still open from 9am–3pm at Mt Beauty Hospital Monday to Saturday and Bright Hospital Monday to Friday, while Myrtleford Hospital is open on Wednesday to Sunday.
You can make a booking for the Alpine Community COVID–19 Vaccination Clinics by calling the COVID–19 hotline on 1800 675 398.
