THE Bright Tennis Club's Wednesday night pennant competition played on last week, when Team One (Waratah) took a bye and Team Five (Lilly Pilly) brought in some delicious spring rolls to be shared throughout the night.

Team Five (Lilly Pilly) played Team Three (Bottlebrush) with Lilly Pilly taking it out four sets to two.

Chris Pangrazio and Sera Paterson beat Tracy Carey and Bruno Souza (6–2), Jo Paterson (filling in for Belinda Hone) and Lachie Thomas beat Drew Carey (filling in for Nic Carey) and Felicity Freeman (6–2), and Chris Pangrazio and Jo Paterson beat Tracy Carey and Drew Carey (6–4).

Sera Paterson and Lachie Thomas then lost to Bruno Souza and Felicity Freeman 1–6 – Freeman played very well that match securing the first win of the night for team Bottlebrush.

Team Four (Grevillea) was on fire all night and won all of their games against Team Two (Banksia) six sets to zero.

Peter Dixon and Ciaran O'Connor beat Tom Russell and Dave Russell (6–2), Cathy Lennon and Tamara Costa beat Nicole Lodge and Margaret Wilson (6–1) thanks to Lennon's stellar backhand, and Peter Dixon and Cathy Lennon beat Tom Russell and Nicole Lodge (6–3).

Ciaran O'Connor and Tamara Costa beat Dave Russell and Margaret Wilson (6–4) – Russell was serving well, but Costa's return of serve was even better.

Peter Dixon and Tamara Costa beat Tom Russell and Margaret Wilson (6–1), and Ciaran O'Connor and Cathy Lennon beat Dave Russell and Nicole Lodge (6–0).
