Midweek Pennant, Tuesday, December 8.
A1. Club Mulwala 66 (10 points) defeated Myrtleford 60 (four points). Well done to Lance Symon’s team with Norm Bussell, Kevin Chalwell and Wally Dunstone for their 20 shot win 31 to 11 and to Wayne Bunge’s team with Tom Mullane-Grant, Jack Lillis and Paul King for their six shot win, 23 to 17.
Unfortunately the third team with Jeff Stagg, Christine Jones, Cheryl Lewis and Deni Piazza could not match the quality of their opposition and went down by 32 shots, 6 to 38. At this stage after round five, Myrtleford is 6th on the ladder.
B1. Myrtleford 62 (14 points) defeated Wareena Park 40 (zero points). A very convincing win by all Myrtleford teams. Congratulations to Walter Brett’s team with Claire Bonacci, Veronica Matassoni and Glenys Pepyat for their 14 shot win, 26 to 12. Also to Sam Bonacci’s team with Alan Wood, Annie Dunstone and Col Byrne for their three shot win, 18 to 15 and Graham Burrington’s team with Peter Sharkey, Noel Rowe and Kath Wood for their five shot win, 18 to 13. At this stage, after round five, Myrtleford is third on the ladder.
Weekend Pennant, Saturday, December 12.
A2. Rutherglen 94 (18 points) defeated Myrtleford 58 (zero points). Myrtleford fought hard but was outclassed on all rinks by a strong Rutherglen side.
Results were: Greg Robbins team with Deni Piazza, Jack Lillis and Marino Candusio went down by 14 shots, nine to 23. Ian Keat’s team with Cheryl Lewis, Lou Frizzo and Atilla Litkei went down by eight shots, 15 to 23. Lance Symons’ team with Norm Bussell, Mick Dwyer and Wally Dunstone went down by four shots, 17 to 21 and Paul King’s team with Maria Duic, Graeme Attwood and Jeff Stagg went down by 10 shots 17 to 27. At this stage, after round 6, Myrtleford is fifth on the ladder.
B1. Moira 65 (12 points) defeated Myrtleford 47 (two points). Congratulations to Gareth William’s team with Ady Villella, Sam Liuzzi and Col Byrne for their seven shot win, 22 to 15. Other results were: Neil Jensen’s team with Glenys Pepyat, Deanne Wise and John Marsden went down by six shots, 16 to 22 and Royston Smith’s team with Noel Rowe, Frank Watson and Walter Brett went down by 19 shots nine to 28. At this stage, after round six, Myrtleford is fourth on the ladder.
B3. Myrtleford 64 (14 points) defeated Corowa Civic 55 (zero points). A fabulous win for the B3s with wins on all rinks. Congratulations to Pippa La Spina with Peter Sharkey, Janine Powell and Kath Wood for their two shot win, 23 to 21. Also to Kev Wood’s team with Lois Beggs, Gerry Green and Annie Dunstone for their three shot win, 21 to 18 and Alan(Bundy) Eliott’s team with Dieter Grimm, Alan Wood and Wally Langton for their four shot win, 20 to 16. A great effort by all and they are now on top of the ladder.

BRIGHT BOWLS
AFTER the wind and rain at Wodonga last week perfect conditions prevailed at Bright last Saturday.
A3 defeated Rutherglen 113/47, with all rinks having comfortable wins - John Pryor 34/9, Patrick O'Shea 29/10, Cheryl Raduczic 29/15 and Martin Kupferle 21/13.
With one round to play before the Christmas break A3 are in sixth place on the ladder.
B3 again had two subs from Wangaratta to fill their team but were narrowly beaten by Milawa 58/65.
Terry Gibbons was the only winning rink 23/19, Ralph Zonta 17/19, Trevor Barker 18/27.
After the break we hope to have all members available which will strengthen the teams.
Pennant recommences on January 16 with A3 travelling to Mulwala and B3 going to Wangaratta.
Social mixed bowls in mufti will be played on December 22 and then every Tuesday from January 5.
Entries are still being taken for the Christmas carnival starting December 27.
