FIRST-year player Paddy Dodd struck his maiden century for Mount Beauty in the A grade sides 34-run win over Kiewa on Saturday.
The 23 year old plastered 129 runs from only 109 deliveries which included 13 fours and five maximums as the visitors racked up an imposing 6-228 from its 40 overs.
Will Betheras (37) and Greg McLennan (20) also contributed with bat in hand for the Power.
Kiewa replied with a sizeable 194.
Dodd is originally from Adelaide, where he posted one of his two previous tons for Westminster School.
He also hit a century playing in England.
He had hit two half-centuries prior to his breakthrough innings, which simply took the game away from Kiewa.
However, the underdogs produced a credible performance by pushing the 200 barrier.
Connor Davis posted 44 from 55 deliveries at number seven, including three fours and a six.
Kiewa looked no chance at 5-80, but some handy scores through the middle and lower order at least gave the team a chance.
But when Davis was run out at 8-160, any hopes of an unlikely win were dashed.
Opening bowler Nick Iaria claimed 3-45 from seven overs, while Priyankara Silva took 2/26 off his 5.2 overs.
The victory has Mount Beauty in second spot, six points ahead of Kiewa at the pointy end of the season.
