MORE than 300 riders from around Victoria and interstate descended on Bright for round four of the Victorian Enduro Tour mountain bike race last weekend.
The Bright Gravity Enduro was hosted and run by the Alpine Cycling Club (ACC) in Mystic Park, Bright, and was presented by All Terrain Cycles.
Racers competed in six stages of racing over two days, which included roughly 25km and more than 1000 metres of vertical climbing.
The Alpine Cycling Club has a long history of delivering successful cycling events in the region, and race director Ash Gray said the weekend's race was a huge community effort with more than 90 volunteers turning out to help put on the race.
"We were very excited to welcome so many keen riders – from juniors to super masters and everyone in between – to beautiful Bright on the weekend," he said.
Gravity Enduro racing is a hugely popular mountain biking discipline – the Bright round of the series sold out in just seven minutes of entries becoming available.
"It's been great to see so much growth in the sport, especially amongst junior riders," Gray said.
"We also love seeing our local riders succeed, and a huge number of ACC members achieved great results this weekend with many taking podiums places in their categories."
The fifth and final round of the Enduro series will take place in Mansfield in November.
