THE week’s lawn bowls matches were both very competitive games for Bright Bowls Club, with a narrow loss by four shots for their B1 midweek pennant team and also a narrow loss of five shots for the A3 Saturday pennant squad.

B1 played at Bright against Swanpool on Tuesday, November 12.

Congratulations to Trevor Poyner’s team of lead Libby Barker, second Bruce Neilson, and third Wayne Curtis for their great win 23/12.

Ernie Vanderwert’s team with lead Gilbert Griffith, second Greg Pepyat, and third Bev Griffith lost 19/26, and Patrick O’Shea’s team of lead Maureen Magill, second Jock Arthur, and third Elaine O’Shea went down 14/22.

Final score was Bright 56/2 points def by Swanpool 60/12 points

The A3 team on Saturday played at Bright against Mansfield.

Congratulations to Patrick O’Shea’s team of lead Libby Barker, second Linda Hayes, and third Elaine O’Shea who won 25/19, and to Cheryl Raduczic’s team with lead Bruce Neilson, second Trevor Poyner, and third Peter Raduczic who won 19/16.

Ernie Vanderwert’s team of lead Gilbert Griffith, second Greg Pepyat, and third Bev Griffith went down 16/20, and Martin Kupferle’s team with lead Otto Kupferle, second Sam Kupferle, and third Bill Hayes lost 14/24.

Final score was Bright 74/4 points def by Mansfield 79/14 points.
