THE Alpine Little Athletics Club is seeking a full suite of committee members because all previous members stood down after the last season.

"Most of us have been there for the last few years and all of our kids have moved on to other things," previous club president Poly Kay said.

According to Ms Kay, the kids at the club are fantastic to work with.

"I've really enjoyed the last few years of running the Alpine Little Athletics Club," she said.

Ms Kay said the club would need a minimum of six committee members to keep the club going.

"If we don't have a committee then the club can't run, and the closest little athletics club, apart from alpine, is in Mount Beauty, which is up and running again, or there's one in Wangaratta," she said.

The club runs through the warmer months of the year, giving kids the chance to do track running, hurdles, javelin, shot put, discus, high jump, long jump and triple jump.

"We offer pretty much all the disciplines and all the equipment's already there – ready for a new committee," said Ms Kay.

She said that while the club is based at Pioneer Park in Bright, it could move to Myrtleford.

"It could be a positive thing for the club to be in Myrtleford because the catchment might be much bigger," she said.
