PACE recognised nationally as 'Program of Excellence'

Alpine Health’s PACE Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has recently been nationally recognised as a 'Program of Excellence' through the Australian Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Excellence Initiative. Coordinated by Solve CHD in partnership with the Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association, the recognition celebrates programs which provide evidence-based care and meet nationally recognised quality standards. PACE has supported local people recovering from cardiac events to rebuild their strength, confidence and independence. By providing high-quality rehabilitation close to home, the program allows participants to focus on their recovery while remaining connected to their families and local support networks. Alpine Health's operational director of allied health, Paige Tuohey, said the recognition reflected the commitment of the PACE team and the positive difference the program makes in people’s lives. “This is a wonderful achievement for PACE and a reflection of the skill, care and dedication behind the program,” she said. “Access to cardiac rehabilitation close to home is particularly important in rural communities. "PACE provides local people with individualised professional support, practical guidance and encouragement as they recover and work towards their health goals.” PACE coordinator, Roslyn Bloomer, has played a central role in the program’s success, supporting participants through personalised exercise, education and rehabilitation activities. “This recognition belongs to everyone who has contributed to PACE over the years, particularly our clients who place their trust in us and work so hard throughout their recovery,” she said. “We see firsthand the difference the right support can make, not only to a person’s physical health but also to their confidence, independence and quality of life.” The success of PACE has also been strengthened by the knowledge, commitment and local connections of its valued program partners: Ovens Valley Physio & Pilates, Equilibre Health and Kiewa Valley Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy. Alpine Health thanks these partners for their important contribution to providing accessible, high-quality rehabilitation across our rural communities. The program’s success has also created opportunities for PACE to continue growing and supporting more people. Alpine Health is exploring new partnerships and funding opportunities to strengthen the program and extend its reach and would like to hear from community organisations, businesses and philanthropic partners interested in working together to improve cardiac and pulmonary health outcomes for locals.
