MYRTLEFORD Farmer's Market is back in the Piazza this Saturday with plenty of farm–fresh produce for everyone.

With winter weather here, Heirloom Naturally will have a range of pumpkins and other vegetables on hand for hearty soups.

People are urged to get to the market early, expecting lettuce, rocket and kale to be sold out early.

Market coordinator Lousie Benini said everyone should come prepared with their baskets, shopping list and an umbrella, with the forecast pointing to the chance of rain.

"We will have the Wondermazing Honeybees at the market with their honey, which is a must for the pantry during winter, and some naughty honey fudge," she said.

"With Patriza Simone being on holiday there won't be a recipe of the month but instead our hero ingredient is Goulburn Valley Porks' sausages with samples being available to try throughout the market."

Ms Benini said she is excited to start the composting initiative for market waste this month after being inspired by what occurred over the La Fiera weekend.

"Although we have only a tiny amount of waste, we will be aiming to eliminate it, so keep an eye out for the extra compost bins, all labelled to make it easy for you," she said.

"The waste then heads to the Myrtleford Community Garden to assist them in growing more fruit and vegetables for the community."

Myrtleford Landcare will also attend to collect everyone's used sports balls.

The market will be held from 9am at the Myrtleford Piazza this Saturday.
