COUNTING will continue this morning to finalise the results of the Alpine Shire Council election after Victorian Electoral Commission staff took a break for the public holiday yesterday.
North East Media understands about 76 per cent of envelopes had been received by close of business on Friday with 11,169 enrolled voters on the roll.
The latest vote count obtained by North East Media on Tuesday morning confirmed former mayor Ron Janas had secured enough votes to be re-elected.
