NOMINATIONS are still being sought for the annual Alpine Shire Youth Awards.

The awards shine a spotlight on the talent, dedication, and resilience of local young people aged 12 to 21, recognising their contributions across a wide range of fields.

Community members, schools, organisations and peers are encouraged to put forward the names of outstanding young individuals.

From academic excellence to artistic brilliance, community leadership to sporting achievements, Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, said the Youth Awards honour the diverse strength, commitment and stories of our next generation.

“Our young people continue to inspire us with their passion, creativity and determination,” Cr Nicholas said.

“These awards are a powerful reminder of the positive impact young people have in our community every day.”

Young people can be nominated in one or more of the following categories: Academic; Community; Endurance & Persistence; Performing Arts; Proud & Deadly; Rural; Sports & Recreation; Visual Arts and Media; and Workplace.

Nominations close on Monday, 4 August.
