ALPINE Valleys winery Billy Button Wines has been shortlisted once again for the ‘Best Value Winery of the Year’ in the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion Awards.

Named as a finalist for the second year in a row, alongside only seven other outstanding wineries in Australia, owners Jo Marsh and Glenn James can't quite believe their little winery from the Alpine Valleys is receiving this consecutive prestigious recognition.

After individually finding success in the wine industry, Jo and Glenn came together in 2015, combining their expertise and passion to help lift the profile of the Alpine Valleys as a premium grape growing and wine producing region.

Since then, their vision has deservedly won numerous industry awards and accolades for their large and eclectic range of wines.

Incredibly proud of these nominations, the category is closely tied to special value awards given to wines that offer value for money, whatever their price point.

"We are absolutely over the moon about our second nomination for the second year in a row," Glenn, who is chief winemaker, said.

"The nomination covers the entire range of our 17 wines released this year to be submitted for review.

"It's a very prestigious award...the most important one in the book and we're up against some very major level competitors.

"It doesn't matter if we don't win, just the nomination is an honour.

"This nomination coincides with our 10 year anniversary, which is just the icing on the cake."

Named after a local yellow wildflower, Billy Button Wines are made from small parcels of often intriguing varieties and offer a window into the world of the Alpine Valleys.

With the winners announced on August 7, Billy Button Wines invites you to discover the Alpine Valleys for yourself and taste their range of wines at their Bright cellar door.

Part-time winemaker, Megan Wallace, said Billy Button Wines is located in a really unique region to work in.

"It's a really exciting winery," she said.

"We make approximately 30 different varieties of small-batch wines.

"They are new varieties to Australia and they're different every year."
