ACTIVE COVID–91 cases numbers are remaining steady in Alpine Shire, and in most other municipalities across the North East.

Alpine had 12 new cases reported in the 24 hours to 9am Monday, bringing total active cases to 103, which was 30 less than two weeks ago.

According to the State Government's Coronavirus website, other local government areas in the North East have seen a decrease of up to 20 per cent on totals from a fortnight ago, while others have experienced a rise in cases .

In the 24 hours to 9am Monday:

• Wodonga had 48 new cases and a total of 379 active cases (down from 472 cases two weeks ago);

• Indigo Shire had 18 new cases and a total of 120 active cases (down from 172);

• Benalla had 16 new cases and a total of 143 active cases (up from 85);

• Moira Shire had 24 new cases and a total of 187 active cases (down from 233); and

• Mansfield Shire had 11 new cases and a total of 78 active cases (up from 76).

Victoria recorded three lives lost in the 24 hours to 9am Monday, with 7678 new cases, taking total active cases to 61,077, with 773 people in hospital and 40 in ICU.

Northeast Health Wangaratta is continuing to operate its drive–thru COVID screening clinic in Vincent Road on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 8am to 11am, with PCR tests and (Rapid Antigen Test) RATs available.

A positive result on a RAT is treated the same way as a positive PCR test and all positive results must be reported at https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/report
