IMPROVED mobile service could have saved hundreds of fish during January’s bushfire crisis but for Harrietville’s Peter and Sally Hall it’s better late than never.

The Federal Government last week confirmed new base stations under round five of its $380 million Mobile Black Spot Program (MBSP) will be built at Harrietville (Telstra), Creightons Creek (Telstra), Cudgewa (Telstra), Jingellic (Optus), Mt Bruno (Optus) and Taggerty (Telstra).

The base stations are scheduled to roll out in the coming months with the first new base station expected to be activated by the end of this year.
