BRIGHT and surrounds has been spared what would have been an irreversible blow to businesses and jobs with only abattoirs subject to unprecedented coronavirus restrictions announced by Premier Daniel Andrews on Monday.
Under the changes, meatworks will be the only regional industry directly impacted by the stage four changes for Melbourne, Mitchell Shire remained at stage three.
The workforce will be scaled back to two-thirds across the state and workers must wear full personal protective equipment like gowns, masks and shields and will be subject to routine testing.
