ACTIVE cases of COVID–19 in the Alpine Shire have decreased over the past week, in line with the statewide trend.

Ten new cases of COVID–19 in the Alpine Shire were recorded in the 24 hours prior to Monday 9am, bringing the total number of active cases to 65 – which is 91 cases less than two weeks ago.

According to coronavirus.vic.gov.au, other municipalities have also recorded a decrease in cases.

In the 24 hours preceding Monday 9am, Wangaratta recorded 22 new COVID cases, bringing its total to 222 active cases (down from 296 two weeks ago).

Indigo Shire has 113 active cases, with 12 new cases recorded in the 24 hours before Monday.

This is down from 148 active cases two weeks ago.

Wodonga has recorded 34 new cases, bringing its total number of active COVID cases to 344, down from 560 cases a fortnight ago.

Benalla has had nine new cases recorded, with a total of 83 active cases – down from 141 a fortnight ago.

Moira has recorded 18 new COVID cases, with a total of 158 active cases, down from 298 last fortnight.

Mansfield has 56 active cases, with only five recorded in the 24 hours preceding Monday, down from 68 active cases two weeks ago.

Across Victoria, three lives have been lost to COVID–19 in the 24 hours to 9am Monday, with 1578 new cases recorded, taking total active cases to 46,174, down from 61,077 active cases as of Monday last week.

A total of 660 cases are in hospital and 33 cases are in ICU.
