IT was a full house at the Myrtleford Bowls Club for round 13 of the weekend pennant competition, as all levels played at home.

On a very hot day, the Myrtleford’s A1 team needed a victory over Wangaratta to obtain a spot in the top four on the competition ladder.

Unfortunately for them, they were left languishing one point behind when an early end to the days play was called because of the excessive heat, with Wangaratta winning 51-50.

Best performers were the Greg Robbins’ team with Lance Symons, Marino Candusio and Michelle Van Praagh, downed 11/15.

Mary Paton’s team went down 11/15, Geoffrey Kidd’s team lost 8/12 and Peta Matty’s team lost 10/17.

The weekend B1 teams demonstrated why they are on top of the ladder with a resounding victory over Moira 71/18.

Jeffrey Stagg with Denis Piazza, Mark Simpson and Norman Hallett soared with a massive 31/5 win.

Graham Burrington’s team was strong 24/10 and Les Brown’s team came up 16/3.

Myrtleford’s weekend B2 teams came out on top even in the shortened game, winning against Moira with two rinks and an overall score of 57/38.

Best rink was Lindsay Hamilton, Terry McCaw, Norman Vonarx and Dawn Murtagh.

Helen Murtagh’s team won 23/8 and Phyllis Swindley’s team won 9/24.

Round 12 of the midweek pennant saw Myrtleford’s A2 side defeat Wodonga 53/43 thanks to a fine performance by Michael Dwyer’s team of Mick, Michelle Van Praagh, Walter Dunstone and Jim Murtagh.

Greg Robbin’s team drew 18/18 and Mary Paton’s team went down 15/16.

The midweek B1 side was also successful, beating Moyhu 69/46.

Lindsay Hamilton’s team won 23/13, Pippa Laspina’s team edged out the competition with a 18/17 win, and Colin Smith’s team triumphed 28/16.
