THIS period of 25 years in the history of the Myrtleford Agricultural & Pastoral Show was one of consolidation, served by a hard working committee under the leadership of just three presidents: Alf W Richardson (1948-1976), Ray Murtagh (1977-1984) and finally Basil Kneebone who took up the reins in 1985.

Serafino Giuseppe (Joe) Peruzzo was born in a small village, near the city of Vicenza in north east Italy, in the year 1912.

IN a report in the Ovens & Murray Advertiser on December 4, 1897 three magistrates, presiding at the Bright Licensing Court, considered renewals of liquor licenses for Myrtleford and district for 1898.

FOR some 40 years, as agricultural, mining and commercial pursuits grew in the Myrtleford district in the latter half of the 19th century, a dairy industry was slowly growing to meet local needs.
