QR codes on fitness equipment in Harrietville are now available to help exercise enthusiasts use the fitness gear near Pioneer Park.
Robyn Downey, from the Harrietville Community Forum, said exercise videos could now be accessed through scanning the QR codes on each piece of equipment.
“The videos are great as not only do they show you how to use the equipment safely, but also give tips on how to use the equipment if you have an injury or if you want to challenge yourself and use the equipment for a harder workout,” she said.
Alpine Health and Gateway Health, as part of Active Alpine Group (AAG), supported the Harrietville Community Forum to host a ‘come and try day’ for the outdoor fitness equipment located near Pioneer Park in Harrietville.
The Harrietville Community Forum were successful in securing $25,000 in funding from the Alpine Shire Community Bushfire Recover Grants program to install the equipment following a survey they conducted which identified community desire for local free outdoor exercise equipment.
According to AAG, part of the ‘come and try day’ was the filming of instructional videos on how to use the equipment and also highlights of the day and the outdoor equipment.
Local community members starred in the videos showing how to use the equipment correctly with Leeah Cooper, accredited exercise physiologist, as the instructor for the videos.
