LA Fiera's 2022 Young Ambassadors received their certificates of achievement last week, representing an excellent display of leadership and ambassadorship in the lead up to and during this year's rain–affected La Fiera Italian Festival, according to former Young Ambassador Scheme (YAS) mentor John Twyford.
Young ambassadors Frankie Carroll, Taylah Geddes, Davide Genero and Maddison Pasqualotto and expressed their appreciation for participating in the scheme and the mentoring program, saying they enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to other young people as a good way to get involved in community, learn and develop leadership and other skills.
Applications are now open for the 2023 La Fiera Young Ambassador Scheme, with up to eight young people, between the ages of 16 and 25 to be selected as young ambassadors for 2023.
The La Fiera Young Ambassadors are the face of La Fiera and will have a range of duties that include promotional activities and media events.
Those selected as La Fiera Festival Young Ambassadors will be mentored in – among other things: Italian culture and traditions, history of Italian families settling in the Alpine Valleys and environs, event planning and management, community leadership, conversation making and public speaking.
Applications are open on the La Fiera website until 4pm, Thursday December 15.
