ONE lucky Myrtleford Scout has been chosen for an experience of a lifetime, where he will go and experience Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in the heart of Switzerland.
Alexander Cameron will be going over to the Swiss mini jamboree camp as part of an Australian contingent on July 1 next year.
It will be a two–week celebration of various Scout activities to help mark 100 years of the camp, which started in 1923.
Alexander will be among 200 Scouts from all over Australia who will join thousands from across the world that will get to experience the camp.
Myrtleford Scouts co–ordinator Bernadette Hayes said the trip will cost around $5000 so various fundraisers are being organised to assist, with local service clubs also contacted for support.
"To be chosen as one of 200 from all of Australia is amazing...Alex is pretty excited," said Ms Hayes.
Alex said he was stoked to able to get this opportunity.
"I'm excited to be able to gain new experiences and to be able to meet a lot of new people from around the world," he said.
"Scouts has given me the opportunity to be involved in the community and to help people, while also being able to express myself."
The application process for this opportunity was lengthy with Alex having to list all of his services within Scouts and also list Scouting references.
