POREPUNKAH Bridge Holiday Park will see a further $1 million investment for upgrades and refurbishments, after regional accommodation provider, the G'day Group, announced its acquisition of the crown–leased property.
Located just off Mount Buffalo Road on the banks of the Ovens River, the popular holiday park will be reimagined as Discovery Parks – Mount Buffalo, and adds to the company's growing alpine footprint, which also includes properties nearby Bright and in Jindabyne NSW.
G'day Group chief executive officer Grant Wilckens said the upgrade will include the construction of a games room and a second camp kitchen.
"The company aims to leverage its significant tourism and marketing expertise to entice more visitors to discover the Porepunkah/Mount Buffalo region all year round," he said.
"Victoria's High Country is already one of Australia's favourite holiday spots, but the region still has so much potential for growth as an all–season destination.
