Gabriel Warnir – Bright

Gabriel Warnir is a director of the Thamurrurr Youth Corporation, which partners with Bright's Dumu Balcony Cafe to provide training for youth from Thamarrurr, in the Northern Territory.

He is currently doing a traineeship at the cafe as he is thinking about getting a job in Victoria and bringing his family from the Northern Territory.

He recently returned to Bright in July.

How long have you lived in the area?

I was here in 2010 and then I went back home. I came here first to do my education. I did a bit of a school and working with youth doing a leadership group program.

When you went back home, where was that?

The Northern Territory. We live on the coast, southwest of Darwin, near the border of WA.

When did you come back to Bright?

I came back in 2015. I was still involved in working with this program as a director.

Where would you take visitors to showcase the area?

I would love to take them here to show them us working with this program in this cafe.
