ALPINE Shire residents are being warned of the dangers of consuming wild mushrooms, with cooler weather and recent rainfall providing the ideal growing conditions for certain types of mushrooms.
With foraging quite a common practice in the North East, it's a message to be taken seriously, according to Victoria's deputy chief health officer Dr Clare Looker.
