Myrtleford Mail: Post offices over the decades

THE humble Myrtle Creek Store on the corner of Albert and Myrtle streets was Myrtleford's first post office, serving the needs of local diggers flocking to the Ovens goldfields.

Mail was conveyed to and fro by several coach lines, including Crawford & Connelly, which arrived each week on the difficult roads from Beechworth en route to Porepunkah, the Buckland, and further afield.
