NEPALESE mountaineer Phunjo Lama scaled Mount Everest in 2018, for a time even holding the record for fastest female south-side ascent, but when attempting Mount Buffalo she turned back.
Last Thursday morning’s storm and rain meant her climb with Bright local Judy Anderson wasn’t safe, leading them to head back after around an hour and a half.
“We have to respect the mountain,” she said.
