ALPINE Shire's chestnut industry has been bolstered by $300,000 in new funding from the Victorian Government's 'Food to Market' program.
The funds were given to Chestnut Australia Inc with the specific aim to help manage the eradication of chestnut blight disease – which first appeared in the region a decade ago – and increase chestnut production and employment.
