MYRTLEFORD has come away from the Wangaratta Junior Basketball Tournament with the under 16 boys division 1 title.

The under 16 boys were among four Myrtleford teams to play over Saturday and Sunday along with an U16 boys division 2 side, division 2 U14 boys and a division 1 U18 girls team.

The U16 division 1 side completed a perfect weekend on the hardcourt with a 20-point win over Echuca in the grand final.

They had all earlier booked their place in the decider by going through the preliminary rounds undefeated beating Echuca (28-18), Seymour (26-18), Bendigo (42-30) and Wodonga (46-18).

In the final Ryley Bouker led the way with 18 points while Will McKerral and Flynn Wright each added 15 points.

The U18 girls were contesting division 1 for the first time and showed some encouraging signs over the weekend despite only finishing with one win.
