THE SNOW WON’T GO ON

The colour & excitement at Falls Creek for the closing weekend. Record numbers flocked to the resort after a late season blast delivered up to 40cm of new snow & blue skies for the last day of the 2016 snow season.

Falls Creek celebrated the end of the snow season with the biggest final day in living memory last weekend.

More than 40cm of snow on Friday topped up the total snowfalls to about 3.5 metres for the season and with discounted lift tickets on Sunday and blue skies, punters turned back the clock to peak season August numbers.

Bright’s Pip and Geoff Veitz, pictured, along with their children, won fashions on the field and a 55-inch Samsung TV to boot.

Falls Creek’s Chris Hocking said it was an extraordinary end to the year.

“The skiing was golden on ‘Main Street’ for the closing weekend, while the festivities of fashions on the field and the ‘Big Dig’ added to the fun,” he said.
