MYRTLEFORD’S much-anticipated Farmers Market has been given a $30,000 kick-start from the Victorian Government.

Last Friday Jaclyn Symes, (MLC, Northern Victoria) announced the start up grant that will be managed by TAFCO.

The co-operative’s chairman Allan McGuffie said it was perfect timing.

“The Myrtleford Farmers Market will support local producers and provide local residents with a diverse range of high quality, well priced local produce and products; strengthening the economic and environmental sustainability of the local food system,” he said.

“A visit to the market provides the occasion for locals to proudly share their region and its bounty with visiting friends and relatives.

“The market will create a regional circuit of farmers markets and provide another reason for tourists to ‘stop’ in Myrtleford.
