FORMER Bright junior and Myrtleford Saint Matt Taberner has enjoyed his best game at AFL level.
The 23-year-old booted a career best five goals in Fremantle’s 83-point win over Brisbane on Saturday afternoon.
Taberner kicked five goals straight including three in the second quarter to go along with 17 disposals and eight marks.
It was another encouraging performance by the 198cm forward who is now his fourth season at the top level.
After playing only one game in the first three rounds of the season Taberner has played nine straight senior matches and continues to show improvement each week while earning the praise of coach Ross Lyon.
Talking on Perth radio a couple of weeks ago Lyon spoke about Taberner’s work ethic and continued development.
