IT may be three weeks to the launch of the La Fiera festival but already some events are booked out.
The much anticipated celebration of all things Italian will be opened by renowned chef Patrizia Simone at a gala function at the Michelini Wines cellar door on May 17.
What follows will be six days of food and wine celebrations in various forms.
There will be a harvest feast with celebrity chef Stefano Manfredi on the Friday night, the perennial favourite with some of Myrtleford’s nonnas putting on their own cooking display and new to this year a special play known as Commedia Dell Arte – recognisable for its use of extravagant masks.
There is Saturday’s food and wine festa in the piazza, the annual clash against the Italian heritage soccer sides and last year’s Cup finalists Myrtleford and Wangaratta, along with mushroom forest forages and hosts of complementary activities.
Dino Michelini said the festival fitted their company and family philosophy.
