TONY Mildren has been remembered as an all-round good guy, loved by family and friends.
The 58-year-old died after his car hit a tree on the Yackandandah-Myrtleford Road near the Carter Holt Harvey mill on Saturday morning.
North East Media understands he was returning to town after cutting a load of firewood for a sick friend.
Facebook pages were flooded with heartfelt messages from the wider community, while Myrtleford’s Buffalo Hotel set up a candle lit vigil in his favoured seat at the end of the bar.
Publican Brendan Cusack said the tribute would stay in place until after the funeral.
“Snake was one of the first people to welcome us to town, and tell us the rules of the pub,” he said.
