FREEBURGH Bridge is finally open again, 14 months after being closed due to safety concerns.

Works were completed on Monday and the bridge officially reopened today.

The $263,100 project saw the old 15-tonne capacity structure completely replaced.

Although still single lane the new bridge has no load limit and includes a shared path.

Alpine Shire Council assets director Charlie Bird said the project had been delivered without delay.

“I think we talked about it being delivered in April this year so it has been delivered on time which is great,” he said.
