Positives in defeat

ON SONG: Mitch Dalbosco continued his good start to the season and was among Myrtleford’s best players again.

WHILE Myrtleford co-coach Leigh Corcoran said it was disappointing to miss out on a second win of the season there were positives to take from Saturday’s loss to North Albury.

The Alpine Saints were on top for much of the day at McNamara Reserve before defeat was inflicted in the final minutes of the match, the final score 14.9 (93) to 14.17 (101).

Corcoran said there were both attacking and defensive efforts to be happy about.

“Our movement of the footy through the middle part of the ground was a lot quicker which gave the opportunity for our forwards to find space,” he said.

“That was something we worked on during the week and planned for and the players implemented it quite well.

“Also our effort and defensive pressure particularly in the first half and from our forwards.
