THE Mt Beauty Toy Library has received a boost made possible by a grant from the Alpine Shire Council which has provided new, exciting toys for families to borrow.

Some $2000 worth of toys have been purchased thanks to $1500 from the Alpine Council annual community grant scheme, $100 donated by Lakeview childcare and $400 raised by the Toy Library itself.
Mount Beauty Toy Library president Kerrily Jeffery explained that the grant is aimed at strengthening families through play.

“Mount Beauty has a significant level of disadvantage and high rates of disability in the 0 to 5 population,” she said.

“The purchases will revitalise the toy library service and assist more families to have access to toys that enhance children’s development, encourage active play as well as strengthening the bonds between parents and children.”
