MYRTLEFORD Savoy will be without number one goal keeper and co-coach Jayden Vescio for this season and possibly the start of 2017.
Vescio’s 2016 was over before it even began after tearing his right ACL in an international rules exhibition match against King Valley Football Club last month.
He will now spend up to 12 months on the side lines and play no part in the Savoys’ attempt to bounce back from the disappointment of last year’s cup loss to rivals Wangaratta City.
Will Keenan will take Vescio’s place between the uprights, after playing in attack last year.
The 27 year-old said the injury happened innocuously while he chased down a ball in the exhibition match.
“I had a bit of knee pain and I was just running by myself with no one around me, I heard a click as I went to change direction and pop she went,” he said.
