THE Mt Beauty Country Club has been sold just days after creditors agreed to wind up the business.
It is expected that all employee entitlements will now be met and a dividend issued to unsecured creditors.
Creditors met last Monday week and agreed to wind up the business after several expressions of interest in forming a partnership to trade out of its financial difficulties failed to go any further.
Administrator Chris Chamberlain said the sale was always bubbling along in the background.
“There was always plenty of interest in the sale of the building behind the scenes and while we continued to pursue the potential for another club to come in and join the business we also had a duty to keep all options on the table,” he said.
“Some of those interested were tyre kickers, making peppercorn offers.
