BRIGHT captain Ben Bond has added the Mountain Men’s senior best and fairest award to his Baker Medal, capping off an outstanding season for the 24-year-old.

Bond took out the award for the second straight season at the club’s vote count and presentation at the Bright Entertainment Centre on Saturday night.

In a close count Bond claimed the top honour ahead of tall utility Tom McDonagh and veteran tough nut Steve Nightingale who was third.

All three players were key cogs in Bright’s midfield and a team that was just two straight kicks away from a grand final appearance.

The reserves count was also extremely tight at the top and saw the award shared by Cade Nightingale and Blaze Jordan.

The silky left footers both had fantastic years, helping their side to a top three finish before unfortunately being knocked out in the first week of the finals.

Leading goal kicker Finn Murphy was runner up.

In thirds football vice captains Alex Shem and Harry Bartlett finished in the top two positions while captain Felix Blazek came home in third.
