WHETHER it’s running, skiing or riding, if it involves long distances it’s usually to Jarrah Forrer’s liking.

The Mt Beauty teenager is continuing to achieve impressive results in all three of his chosen fields, the latest coming on snow during Australia’s cross country ski season.

Two weeks ago at the Kangaroo Hoppet Forrer won his age group, the under 16s category but was also the first skier across the line in the 7km Joey Hoppet, a first for him.

And although he didn’t put any pressure on himself ahead of his ninth Joey Forrer went in confident of a good result.

“I thought I was in with a pretty good chance of winning after some good results before it and because I knew most the ones I was racing against,” he said.
“It was my best time even though it was slower conditions so I’m definitely happy.

“I will do the Birky (14km Birkebeiner) next year because that’s what you do after you win the Joey.”
