A Hoppet joey back for more

The 18th profile from the Faces of the Kangaroo Hoppet Series is Mt Beauty’s Ayla Armitage, 11 (right). This is her story in her words.

“My first Kangaroo Hoppet was in 2012.

“I was nine years old and in grade three.

“Since then I have competed every year (three so far) and I look forward to the next years of skiing.

“I’ve never skied in another Worldloppet event, but I would like to one day, and I am looking forward to what I may do in the future.

“Since competing in the Hoppet I’ve improved my XC skills, I’ve achieved fast times, and I’ve had great fun with my friends (two of my friends, India Zwar and Acacia Benne-Keeble, are pictured with me at last year’s Hoppet).
