Plans on display

MYRTLEFORD residents will be able to view the designs for the town’s Flood Mitigation Project from tomorrow.

It follows recent consultation with impacted landowners.

The designs cover the next stage of the flood mitigation measures identified in the Myrtleford Water Management Scheme which was developed by a community based committee and approved by the Minister for Water in 2005.

The aim of the scheme was to identify measures to minimise the effect of future flooding, including the personal impact of potential future floods.

The proposed measures also take into account the Myrtleford community’s desire to improve the value and use of the public land along Happy Valley Creek by ensuring that infrastructure such as walking paths can be accommodated in the future.
