Biggest Morning Tea helps to raise $2500

BIGGEST Morning Tea committee members Monica O’Neill (left) and Gwen Rolland were on hand to make cups of tea and coffee during the event at the Bright RSL Clubrooms last Thursday morning. The event has been running in Bright for over 14 years and has raised much needed funds for the Cancer Council.

BY simply enjoying a cuppa and some morning tea Bright and district residents have helped the Bright Biggest Morning Tea committee raise over $2500, for the Cancer Council.

The Bright Biggest Morning Tea was held at the RSL Club last Thursday, and it was so popular there was standing room only at one stage.

The organising committee spent the past week raising funds by selling raffle tickets and holding a sausage sizzle and they are thrilled with the amount raised.

“We have managed to raise $2824 this year, which included our raffle, a sausage sizzle and the morning tea,” said Bright Biggest Morning Tea committee member Lory Torriero.

“I think we had about 80 – 90 people attend the morning tea – it was a very good turnout and our tally was helped along by our guest speaker Lynne Sgambelloni who donated $500 and the Bright Lions Ladies Auxiliary who also donated $500.”
