IN its 55th year big things were expected of the 2015 Myrtleford Festival and it didn’t disappoint.
Myrtleford Festival president Chris Walkear described this year’s festival as absolutely fantastic and one of the best ever, thanks to big crowds and well attended events across all five days of celebrations.
“There was a great atmosphere all weekend, which kicked off on Friday night with the official opening and festival ball,” he said.
“On Saturday the Nevin Lenne Gross Gala Parade was bigger than ever before with 34 separate entries while the Carter Holt Harvey Street Party that night attracted a great crowd.
“The community spirit for the festival never ceases to amaze me and we can’t thank everyone enough, from our sponsors to everyone involved and of course the wonderful people that turn out.”
The winning floats for the gala parade were, for best use of festival theme (1915) – Myrtleford Princess Hannah Norris’ CFA sponsored float, most entertaining entry – Marian College and the most imaginative entry – Myrtleford P12 College.
