Lathe to keep men busy at local shed

GENEROUS DONATION: Myrtleford Men’s Shed members (from left) Ray Hartley, George McPherson and Kevin Dinneen work on restoring the wood lathe donated to them from Myrtleford P12 College.

THE Myrtleford Men’s Shed recently received more equipment to their ever expanding workshop.

Myrtleford Men’s Shed secretary Clive Walker said a wood lathe from Myrtleford P12 College was another geenrous donation from the school.

“We do a bit of work with some of the students during the year and the school gives us plenty of support in return, regularly donating old items and materials which we are very grateful for,” he said.

The local group have been going about their business as usual working on a number of projects for themselves and others in the community.

Most recently they have been working hard to build a float which they will enter in the Myrtleford Festival Parade while also working on projects for La Fiera.

On top of that they continue to make wooden toys, puzzles and other children’s items for the Friends of Lacluta group to donate to the disadvantaged youth in East Timor.
