Wanderers all ready to go for season opener

RETURNING: Mitch Sunderland and his Bright teammates are raring to get the cricket season under way.

THE Bright Wanderers return to the cricket field this Saturday for the first time in 18 months.

After not fielding a senior side last season the club will head back on to the pitch this Saturday when they host Wangaratta Magpies in their Wangaratta and District Cricket Association season opener at Pioneer Park.

With the return of a number of young players from rival clubs as well as the recommitments of a host of experienced and former premiership players the club is up and running again.

And Wanderers captain Dylan Bursill says things are shaping up well for their return with everyone raring to begin the campaign this weekend.

“Really looking forward to it, we had our season launch last Friday and had a really good turn out so that was a good way to start things off,” Bursill said.

“We have more than enough numbers this year which is a real positive considering what happened last year.
